Report: Wisconsin set to hire new wide receivers coach

Wisconsin is hiring Western Michigan’s Jordan Reid as its new wide receivers coach, as first reported by FootballScoop’s John Brice.

The move is made to fill a vacancy created by Badgers former wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton moving to quarterbacks coach.

Reid joins the Badgers after two years as Western Michigan’s wide receivers coach (2023-24). He previously worked as an offensive analyst at Wake Forest. That stop came after he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Ohio, his alma mater.

Reid’s top wide receivers tallied a combined 98 receptions, 1,327 yards and six touchdowns at Western Michigan in 2024. Kenneth Womack led the room with 39 catches, 545 yards and a touchdown in just 10 games played.

The rising assistant played wide receiver at Ohio from 2013-16. His college career included 133 receptions, 1,658 receiving yards and 12 total touchdowns. His best season was his junior campaign with the Bobcats: 45 catches, 616 receiving yards, 13.7 yards per reception and five touchdowns.

Reid is set to coach a Wisconsin wide receiver corps that returns Vinny Anthony (39 receptions, 672 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2024) and Trech Kekahuna (25 receptions, 339 receiving yards and two touchdowns) to lead the room. The program also added commitments from transfers Jayden Ballard (Ohio State) and Mark Hamper (Idaho) over the last few weeks.

The room is set to play a significant role in the success of the Badgers’ new offensive system.

Wisconsin has experienced significant coaching staff turnover this offseason after the team missed a bowl game in 2024 — the first time the program has done so since 2001. The Badgers will enter 2025 with new faces at offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach and safeties coach.
