A reported altercation at practice could bring potential internal discipline for a member of the Golden State Warriors.
According to Shams Charania, Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic, there was a physical altercation at the Warriors’ practice on Wednesday between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole. Following the conflict, Green could face disciplinary action, per The Athletic.

According to Charania, Slater and Thompson II, Following a “heated interaction” where the players came chest-to-chest, Green “forcefully struck” Poole and the two had to be separated. Golden State’s practice was stopped after the altercation, per The Athletic.

The altercation between Green and Poole reportedly built up due to teammates noticing a change in Poole’s behavior with a potential contract extension looming according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports. Green was “apologetic” after the altercation with Poole, per Haynes.

The Warriors recently returned from a team trip to Japan that included two preseason games against the Washington Wizards. Golden State will have three more preseason games at Chase Center in San Francisco during training camp before opening the regular season against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on October 14.
