The Vikings have decided to practice today, according to NFL Network (H/T Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press).
Professional sports teams across the country have not been participating in their usual games and practices in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting.
Blake, 29, was shot seven times in the back by a veteran officer, authorities say. The Milwaukee Bucks ended up not taking the floor against the Orlando Magic in their playoff game Wednesday. Since then, other teams have decided to postpone or cancel games and practices.
Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks went on NFL Network to discuss practicing today.
“Obviously, this is a dialogue that we’ve been having as a nation. It wasn’t easy coming to work today. We talked about it pretty much all day, all morning, so far,” Kendricks said on NFL Network, via Tomasson.
Kendricks also said that he’s going to keep doing what he can.
“It’s emotionally draining… But it’s nothing we can’t handle,” he said on NFL Network,” via Tomasson.
