Vikings’ RB Alexander Mattison was downgraded to out for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville due to an illness.

Much of the Vikings’ success in the running game and on offense in general has been because of Dalvin Cook.
It would help to have depth players step up to take some of the workload off Cook, but it appears that will more difficult against Jacksonville in Week 13.
According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, running back Alexander Mattison has been ruled out for the game. Mattison has an illness, per Schefter.
Mattison, a second-year player, is the No. 2 option for the Vikings at running back. He has 338 rushing yards and a touchdown this year.
Barring anything unexpected, Minnesota will still be giving a big role to Cook. If anything were to happen to Cook, expect Mike Boone or Ameer Abdullah to step up.
At 5-6, the Vikings need to beat the Jaguars to go back to .500. More importantly: if Minnesota drops this game, the team’s playoff hopes become more slim.
