Report: Vikings LB Todd Davis tests positive for COVID-19

Another big blow to the Vikings’ linebacker unit: LB Todd Davis has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19

The Vikings linebacker unit took yet another hit before the team plays the Packers in Week 8.

According to a report by Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, Todd Davis tested positive for COVID-19.

Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported that a Vikings linebacker had tested positive, but did not specify which one.

Also, Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune reported that Davis was not at practice today.

As a free agent, Davis visited with the Vikings then signed with them during the 2020 NFL season. Davis used to be a staple of the Broncos defense. He started at least 14 games for the Broncos in the past four seasons. He tallied 134 tackles in 2019. The season before that, he had 114.

This year, he has been a useful player for the Vikings. Davis has played in four games for Minnesota, starting two.

Tomasson  reported that Vikings rookie Troy Dye will start on Sunday vs. Green Bay.
