Minnesota announced Wednesday that it added three players to its COVID-19/reserve list. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Vikings will have to add at least one more.
On Thursday, Rapoport said on Twitter that Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr has been added to Minnesota’s COVID-19/reserve list.
Barr is one of the two mainstay linebackers in the Vikings defense, which often deploys the nickel where it’s just two linebackers — with Barr and Eric Kendricks being the main options — on the field at a time.
Minnesota announced Wednesday that defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo, linebacker Cameron Smith and tackle Oli Udoh were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Before that, Vikings announced on Monday that wide receiver Justin Jefferson, offensive linemen Blake Brandel and Tyler Higby and safety Brian Cole II were put on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The Vikings also announced on Monday that the team’s head athletic trainer Eric Sugarman has tested positive for COVID-19.
