Report: Vikings interested in re-signing tackle Rashod Hill

The Vikings are interested. Would you like to see Rashod Hill back?

Rashod Hill played just 152 snaps last season, but Minnesota might be lacking in depth at right tackle, and apparently they want Hill to return to the team.

According to a report from ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, the Vikings are interested in re-signing Hill in free agency this offseason.

Cronin said in a tweet that Hill is a priority for multiple reasons, “particularly his experience as a swing tackle/stand-in starter, position flexibility (can play right or left tackle) [and] his strengths in pass pro.”

Right tackle Riley Reiff could be a possible cap casualty in the offseason. The team saves $8.8 million on the cap this season if they cut Reiff. Cutting him creates $4.4 million in dead money.

They could also restructure with Reiff and save money that way, so it’s not like Hill has to be the starter next season.  But Hill can still provide versatility to a team that could use it on the offensive line.
