Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is a polarizing figure among the Minnesota fan base.
His big contract and level of play have led some to think a trade may be on the way, but that does not seem to be the case, according to a report.
The Athletic’s Chad Graff wrote that the team has made no effort to trade Cousins.
“The team hasn’t made a single call to another team looking to trade Cousins, according to a source,” Graff wrote. “They want to be in contention for a playoff run and believe they have a team that can do that with Cousins at the helm. They don’t want to get worse at quarterback.”
This, of course, makes sense. With the Vikings coming off a 7-9 season, Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer probably have to provide some sign of short-term success in 2021. To do so, Cousins seems like the safest bet at the moment.
