While 90% of NFL players are at least partially vaccinated, the Vikings are lagging behind the rest of the league in their team-vaccination rate.
According to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post, Minnesota has the lowest vaccination rate in the NFL. Among the Vikings players, 70% of the team is in the process of being vaccinated and 64.5% is fully vaccinated.
Recently, the Vikings received a scare when Kellen Mond tested positive for COVID-19. That led to the team placing three quarterbacks on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, Kirk Cousins included.
There was a Friday practice where Jake Browning was the only available quarterback to participate. Now, though, the team has done its due diligence in finding quarterbacks to fill in. Minnesota has claimed Danny Etling off waivers, while signing Case Cookus, both of whom should be seen as more of offseason placeholders at this time.
