The Vikings have had a lot of disappointment this season. One of the bigger blows to the team has been Danielle Hunter going on IR.
Hunter is eligible to come off the IR next week. But that doesn’t mean that he will necessarily be ready to go.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Hunter is regaining strength and getting closer to returning from a herniated disc in his neck.
“He’s unlikely to be ready to play when he’s eligible to come off IR next week. Optimism still high that he’s back this season,” Pelissero said on Twitter.
Last season, Hunter became the youngest player to reach 50 career sacks. The Vikings acquired Yannick Ngakoue via trade this offseason, but the Minnesota pass rush has looked lackluster without Hunter.
