Report: Tua Tagovailoa expected to be ready to return for London game

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is set to miss his second consecutive game today due to fractured ribs suffered at the hands of the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. But Miami seems to be expecting a change in fortunes for the quarterback position sooner rather than later, according to one report that broke early this morning.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Tagovailoa, who will miss the second of his mandatory 3-game stint on injured reserve due to his fractured ribs, is expected to be ready for a return to action in time for the team’s trip to London to face the Jaguars.

“Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will miss the next two games while he is on injured reserve, but he is expected to be ready to return for the Oct. 17 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, per a source.” – Adam Schefter, ESPN

Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett will continue to man the position in Tagovailoa’s absence and the team must hope that Brissett delivers the goods this afternoon against the Colts. With a trip to Tampa Bay to face the defending champion Buccaneers next week, a win in Week 5 will be a tall order.

And so with Miami already 0-1 without Tagovailoa at the helm, Miami must hope that a win today comes their way. Should Miami find a way to win one of their next with without Tagovailoa, the No. 5 overall pick would be in position to return Miami to at least a .500 record upon his return — at which point the toughest stretch of the season will be behind the team and Miami can hopefully look to get their season back on track.
