The Tennessee Titans are reportedly set to part ways with 2021 undrafted free-agent signing, defensive lineman Naquan Jones.
The news comes from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Perhaps the Titans will bring Jones back on the practice squad, but for now he’s headed to waivers. It remains to be seen who will replace him on the active roster.
Jones was on a positive trajectory after a rookie campaign in which he tallied 2.5 sacks in 13 games (five starts), but he appeared to fall out of favor in 2022 after his playing time was nearly cut in half.
The Michigan State product has played in all eight games this season as a backup, playing 20 percent of the snaps. He’s recorded just eight tackles and zero sacks.
The #Titans are waiving DT Naquan Jones, per source.
A bit of a surprise, given Jones has played a lot there (32 games over three seasons). A big body available on waivers.

With Jones off the roster, the Titans have Denico Autry, Jeffery Simmons, Teair Tart, Jaleel Johnson and Kyle Peko left on the active roster, along with recently-signed Marlon Davidson and TK McLendon on the practice squad. Tennessee worked out veteran Ross Blacklock on Monday.
