Report: Titans’ MyCole Pruitt may have avoided season-ending injury

MyCole Pruitt exited the Week 9 game in the first quarter and never returned.

Tennessee Titans tight end MyCole Pruitt was knocked out of the Week 9 contest against the Chicago Bears early due to a knee injury, and while it looks like he will indeed miss time, he appears to have avoided a season-ending injury.

According to Terry McCormick of Titan Insider, the Titans are awaiting the results of an MRI, but for now it seems that Pruitt has suffered a bad knee sprain and not a torn ACL.

Of course, a bad sprain would lead to Pruitt ending up on Injured Reserve and likely being out more than the minimum three weeks; however, that’s better than missing the rest of the season, which would have been the case had it been a torn ACL.

While Pruitt isn’t much of an asset in the passing game, he certainly makes his presence felt as a blocker. The tight end is one of the very best at his position

Geoff Swaim, who was inactive in Week 9, figures to get increased work behind Anthony Firkser and Jonnu Smith in Pruitt’s absence, and the Titans also have Parker Hesse on the practice squad.

Pruitt was one of two Titans to exit on Sunday early, as guard Rodger Saffold suffered a shoulder injury. We’re still waiting on any semblance of an update on Tennessee’s left guard.
