Report: Titans expect Derrick Henry to return this season

The Titans reportedly expect Derrick Henry to return this season.

While the Tennessee Titans and their fans are rightly feeling down on after the news of a serious foot injury to running back Derrick Henry, we present to you some hope.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Titans are expecting Henry to come back this season, with a return timeframe of six to 10 weeks. Rapoport notes that right in the middle of that timeframe, eight weeks, is most likely.

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed Henry was to undergo surgery on his foot on Tuesday morning, but didn’t give a timetable for return.

If the eight-week timetable does come to fruition, Henry would be back right around Week 16. If it takes the whole 10 weeks, he’ll return by Week 18.

Considering the superhuman shape Henry is in, it’s very possible he returns on the shorter end of that timeline, but really any return before the playoffs start would be sufficient.

In the meantime, the Titans are exploring their options to fill the void, as the team is set to work out Adrian Peterson on Monday. We expect multiple moves in the coming days.
