Report: Titans ‘continue to monitor’ Jadeveon Clowney

The Titans aren’t the only team still in the mix, though.

As we all patiently await Jadeveon Clowney’s decision about where he will sign in free agency, the Tennessee Titans are reportedly still paying close attention.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Titans “continue to monitor” Clowney in free agency, along with a few other teams that weren’t named.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering Titans general manager Jon Robinson has repeatedly made it clear the team is interested and hasn’t closed the door on signing him.

The most recent news we’ve heard in regard to the Clowney watch came down on Wednesday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Cleveland Browns have made the biggest offer to the free-agent pass-rusher, but it appears that Clowney has no interest in playing there.

That would seem to indicate that the Browns aren’t a realistic suitor, which is one more team the Titans won’t have to beat out for Clowney’s services. It also means the Titans won’t have to offer the most money to get him.

Clowney has some familiarity in Tennessee, as head coach Mike Vrabel was once his defensive coordinator, and his good friend, Johnathan Joseph, recently signed with the Titans.

However, there’s simply no telling how this situation will go, and we may not have a conclusion until things open back up and Clowney can get a physical from teams that are interested in him.
