Report: Suspended Patriots CB Jack Jones ‘talked back’ to Bill Belichick

New details emerging regarding rookie CB Jack Jones’ suspension.

New details are coming to light surrounding the New England Patriots suspension of rookie cornerback Jack Jones.

The organization suspended Jones last week for the remainder of the season. The decision of the suspension came after Jones either missed or was late for multiple rehab sessions on his knee. The Patriots held a team meeting as a result and the process of rehabbing injuries was discussed.

However, there is more to the story with Jones reportedly talking back to Patriots coach Bill Belichick, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.

Jones had a promising rookie campaign in 2022. He recorded 30 tackles, a forced fumble, and two interceptions. He most recently played in New England’s contest against the Arizona Cardinals on December 12. But in his absence, there have obviously been issues behind the scenes.

“The Jack Jones thing, my understanding of the way that went, he was late to rehab sessions, he missed rehab sessions,” Breer said. “And I think he even talked back to Bill a little bit about it to the point where Bill felt like he had to address it in a team meeting two Fridays ago.”

Jones was a key piece of the Patriots defensive unit in 2022. It will be intriguing to see what his role is next year, especially with this new information coming to the forefront.
