On the same day we get word that the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t planning to bring offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner back, we get a report that the Steelers are working with defensive coordinator Keith Butler on a new contract that would bring him back in 2021.
Butler has been the Steelers defensive coordinator since 2015. In 2020 things were up and down for the Steelers defense thanks to a long list of injuries and lack of depth on the roster. It’s always felt like Butler didn’t make the most of the talent he has but this is a vote of confidence in him from the franchise for the upcoming season.
