The Pittsburgh Steelers are hurting along the offensive line and the hits keep coming. With veteran guard James Daniels out for the season with a torn Achilles, the Steelers will look to Max Scharping to bolster depth behind Spencer Anderson and rookie Mason McCormick.
The Steelers brought Scharping in for a workout on Monday, and according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the move to sign him has been confirmed.
Scharping, selected in the second round by the Houston Texans in the 2019 NFL draft, never quite panned out. Between the Texans and Cincinnati Bengals, Scharping appeared in 79 games (33 starts). He spent training camp and preseason with the Philadelphia Eagles before the Washington Commanders signed him to their practice squad in late August.
