Report: Steelers potentially looking at competition for Jordan Berry

The Steelers tried out a former Tennessee Titans punter on Tuesday according to a report.

According to Houston Texans reporter Aaron Wilson, the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking at at least one punter to come in and potentially push Jordan Berry. According to Wilson, Ryan Santoso was in for a workout with the Steelers on Tuesday.

Santoso’s career at the University of Minnesota began as a placekicker before switching over to punter after two seasons. He was originally signed as a UDFA by the Detroit Lions. He was also briefly with the Tennessee Titans. According to Pro Football Reference, Santoso had 17 kickoffs in 2019 but no field-goal tries or punts. Santoso averaged 43 yards per punt in his last season with the Gophers.
