Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama will reportedly participate in the Skills Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend.

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama will reportedly participate in the Skills Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Wembanyama is the first known player to commit to the event on Feb. 17 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The competition usually features three teams of three players, typically with teams consisting of rookies, players from the host team and others.

The format of the Skills Challenge last year included a timed on-court relay, passing and shooting obstacles. Utah Jazz players Jordan Clarkson, Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton won, defeating the Antetokounmpo brothers and rookies Paolo Banchero, Jaden Ivey and Jabari Smith Jr.

Wembanyama is averaging 19.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 blocks, three assists and 1.1 steals on 45.2% shooting from the field in 33 games. He leads the rookie class in scoring and is one of two first-year players with three 30-point games (Chet Holmgren).

The top pick projects to have a busy All-Star Weekend. In addition to participating in the Skills Challenge, Wembanyama is a lock to compete in the NBA Rising Stars game on Feb. 16. He will likely be on hand to watch the events throughout the weekend.

The Skills Challenge will tip off All-Star Saturday night (8 p.m. EST, TNT), with the 3-point contest and slam dunk contest to follow at Lucas Oil Stadium.
