When the San Antonio Spurs are on the clock with the 11th overall pick in the NBA draft, the organization will have quite a few prospects to consider. The Spurs have been relatively quiet during the pre-draft process, at least, publicly, but the team reportedly met recently with perhaps the top international prospect.
According to Chris Grenham of Forbes, the Spurs hosted a private, in-person workout last week with Deni Avdija. The 19-year-old is projected to be a lottery pick after averaging 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Avdija has been viewed as a swiss-army knife on offense but doesn’t necessarily excel at any one skill.
The Spurs working out Avdija in-person certainly indicates a strong interest, though it remains to be seen if they will have an opportunity to select him on Nov. 18. He is most commonly projected to be selected in the 5-10 range and may not be available to the Spurs, barring a potential trade up.
Deni Avdija had an in-person workout with the Spurs last week in Atlanta, according to sources.
Celtics do not have any plans for an in-person workout with Avdija at this point, for those wondering.

San Antonio has certainly been linked to several international prospects in the past and Avdija could be next on their radar. The organization is in a bit of a transition phase and is looking to build toward the future and could find their next young star.
