The Philadelphia 76ers are continuing to make big moves in order to make improvements to their roster. After a big draft night on Wednesday where they were able to bring in players such as Danny Green and Seth Curry, they now make a solid move in free agency.
The team still needed to address the need of a backup big man. While rookie Paul Reed could ably fill the role, it is still wise to go out and find a proven, veteran option in free agency.
As free agency opened on Friday night, the Sixers agreed to a 1-year deal with Dwight Howard who is coming off a productive season for the Los Angeles Lakers while winning a title. He averaged 7.5 points and 7.3 rebounds and blocked 1.1 shots per game.

Obviously, Howard is not who he once was when he was the best center in the league, but he can still be a productive bench player as he showed in the 2019-20 season with the Lakers. Coach Doc Rivers can now turn to him when Joel Embiid goes to the bench and the team won’t drop off too much in production. [lawrence-related id=39334,39331,39328]
