The Philadelphia 76ers have hired their new coach in Doc Rivers so that part of their organization has been taken care of. Now, their attention turns to the front office.
General manager Elton Brand has said in the past that he wants to bring in more basketball minds as he signaled the beginning of a front office overhaul. However, no changes have been made just yet and two names that are interestingly going to remain with the team are Alex Rucker and Ned Cohen who are holdovers from the Bryan Colangelo era.
According to Yaron Weitzman, who joined The Bell Ringer podcast to discuss his book “Tanking to the Top” and specifically Markelle Fultz, is reporting that the team is looking for a new executive to serve under Brand.
A Sixers front office update. The team has begun interviewing candidates to serve in an executive role under GM Elton Brand, according to league sources.

The Rivers hire is in line with Brand’s wishing for a “basketball mind” so one has to assume that the team is continuing to look into the same type of mold. The Sixers are a team that holds analytics in high regard and that is a good thing, but at some point, real basketball instincts have to come into play as well. [lawrence-related id=38200,38192,38189]
