The Cleveland Browns have a couple of ways to get down to 85 players by the close of business today. They already waived WR Derrick Dillon on Monday. Rookie center Dawson Deaton tore his ACL and should be placed on injured reserve today and starting center Nick Harris is expected to miss the season as well.
If both centers are placed on injured reserve, the Browns will only need to reduce the roster by two more players. Early roster cuts are likely to be focused more on health, or lack of, especially at certain positions.
According to a report by Brad Stainbrook of The OBR, DT Sheldon Day will be one of those two moves:

Day has been dealing with a back injury this offseason and struggled to get on the field. While Cleveland lacks proven starters on the interior of the defensive line, the team does have a variety of younger players at the position.
In 2021, Day played in seven games for the Browns with 21 tackles and one sack. He has accumulated seven sacks, 11 quarterback hits and 14 tackles for loss in his 67 career games spanning three different teams.
Cleveland will be required to get their roster to 85 by Tuesday afternoon. We will cover those moves as they come today.
