Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero may have another chat ahead of him.
As first reported by NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero on Monday, the Seattle Seahawks have requested to interview Evero for their opening at head coach. This would be his third interview for a head-coaching vacancy and his second outside of the organization.
Evero, just as he did last offseason, has already spoken with the Panthers about their post. He has also completed his interview with the Atlanta Falcons, which took place on Sunday.
Despite plenty of key injuries and a lack of complementary play from the offense, Evero orchestrated the NFL’s fourth-ranked defense in 2023. Carolina allowed just 293.9 yards per contest—more than only the Cleveland Browns (270.2), Kansas City Chiefs (289.8) and New York Jets (292.3).
Seattle, per numerous reports from this afternoon, has sent out feelers across the league. They’ve also requested interviews with Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris and Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith thus far.
