Report: Seahawks acquire corner Quinton Dunbar from Redskins

The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly trading a fifth round pick for cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who had an 87.6 grade from PFF last season.

The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly acquired outside cornerback Quinton Dunbar from the Washington Redskins, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

The Seahawks are sending a fifth round pick to Washington in exchange, according to Adam Schefter.

Dunbar, 27, played the last five seasons with the Redskins, starting 25 out of 58 games and racking up 150 combined tackles, 35 passes defended and nine interceptions. The Redskins made it clear he was being shopped, however, with just one year left on his contract.

He started 11 games last season, with four interceptions and an elite 87.6 grade from Pro Football Focus – the second highest mark among CB last season.

Dunbar’s experience comes on the outside, meaning he is likely going to take Tre Flowers’ job on the outside opposite Shaquill Griffin.

The Seahawks will no doubt make it a competition between Flowers and Dunbar, as they always do, but after the performance they each had last year  it seems very likely Dunbar will join Seattle’s starting secondary in 2020.
