Rutgers football running back Samuel Brown is questionable for Sunday’s game.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Rutgers football running Samuel Brown V is questionable for Sunday’s season opener against Northwestern. Senior running back Aaron Young is out for the game.

The report, from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, specifies that Brown has a foot injury.

Brown suffered a foot injury last season in a win over Indiana where he ran for 101 rushing yards (on 28 carries). He didn’t practice during the spring season or play in the annual Scarlet-White spring game.

Last season as a true freshman, Brown had 343 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He took over the starting running back job during midseason, only to get injured weeks later.

Young missed the first half of the 2022 season with his own injury. He returned to play three games.

Last season, he rushed for 38 yards on 11 carries. Young had one reception for 11 yards and a touchdown.
