After the Vikings applied the franchise tag to him, Anthony Harris reportedly became a potential tag-and-trade candidate.
But it seems like Harris would want to stay with Minnesota or at least get a long-term commitment from some team, according to a report.
A source told the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson that Harris wants the security of a long-term deal. He’d love to stay in Minnesota and buy a house, per Tomasson. He reportedly wants a commitment from some team.

This is good news if you’re the Vikings and you’ve seen so many members of your secondary depart in free agency. Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander both reportedly went to the Bengals. And recently, safety Andrew Sendejo reportedly agreed to terms with the Browns for one-year and $2.25 million.
If Minnesota can get some continuity in the secondary, and have Harris paired with Harrison Smith again at safety, then the Vikings defense would definitely be better off.
Harris and the Vikings have until July 15 to negotiate a long-term contract. If that doesn’t happen, and the Vikings don’t trade him, then Harris is here to stay for 2020-21. They could technically also cut him, but that’s unlikely to happen.
