Long-time Rutgers basketball assistant coach Karl Hobbs is open for a head coaching position.
According to Jaden Daly of the aptly named Daly Dose of Hoops, Hobbs is one of several candidates in the mix for the open position at Manhattan. Last season, Manhattan was 12-18. They were 10-10 in the MAAC and finished sixth in the conference.
Hobbs has been an integral part of the Rutgers basketball staff under head coach Steve Pikiell. He has been with the program the last seven years. He has prior head coaching experience at George Washington from 2001-10.
BREAKING: Former Hartford head coach John Gallagher is interviewing for the vacant Manhattan job, per a source. Same source tells me interim head coach RaShawn Stores also interviewed last week.
Have heard Karl Hobbs, Bruiser Flint and Tim O’Toole also in the mix. #MAACHoops

A strong recruiter, Hobbs has been frequently cited for his ability to build strong relationships both with high school prospects but also the members of the program.
