The 49ers are going to lose defensive coordinator Robert Saleh to the New York Jets. They’ll also lose pass game coordinator Mike LaFleur according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. LaFleur will take over the offensive coordinator position with play-calling duties in New York.
He got his start in the NFL with the Browns in 2014 as an intern under then-offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. Since then he’s been on Shanahan’s staffs in Atlanta and San Francisco.
LaFleur was the wide receivers coach his first year with the 49ers before moving up to the pass game coordinator role for the last three seasons.
