Adrian Peterson is a big topic for the Washington Redskins this offseason.
As we’ve noted, the Redskins have a big decision to make when it comes to his option for next season.
And according to a new report, Peterson will indeed likely be back with the team, per ESPN’s John Keim:
“The Redskins have until 22 days before the start of the new league year (March 18) to decide if they want to pick up the second year of Peterson’s contract. One source said it was likely the Redskins would do so, but nothing is guaranteed.”
This one isn’t too much of a surprise considering the shaky status of Derrius Guice’s availability since joining the team.
Not to mention Peterson himself — after a strong debut season with the Redskins, he put up another 4.3 per-carry season with five scores on fewer carries, which was impressive given the surroundings at times.
Things can always change once the Redskins make adds via free agency or the draft, but it sure doesn’t look like Peterson is slowing down.
