Washington Redskins head coach Ron Rivera has made several moves over the past few days when it comes to bringing abord people he’s worked with during his days with the Carolina Panthers.
But it turns out that won’t be the case with the running backs coach and Randy Jordan, who originally joined the team under the leadership of Jay Gruden.
According to Albert Breer of MMQB, the Panthers blocked the Redskins from hiring Jake Peetz. Jordan will therefore be retained under Rivera in Washington.
Julie Donaldson of NBC Sports later reported the news Jordan would be back with the team:
For inquiring minds: I am still told Redskins do intend to keep Randy Jordan as RB coach. #httr #redskins @NBCSWashington

It reads like this wasn’t the first choice for Rivera, but it’s hard to complain about a guy who has readily brought along players such as Chris Thompson, Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice over the years.
