Rajon Rondo will reportedly sign his deal with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

After agreeing to a contract buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies, all signs pointed to the Lakers pursuing Rondo for one of the final roster spots available.

Rondo played a pivotal part in the 2019-20 championship run, bestowing a key facilitating presence alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, a component the Lakers desperately lacked last season.

Now, they’ll have Rondo as a depth option behind Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn; all three guards bring something different to the table, which will only help L.A. as the season progresses.

As the deal nears completion, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports it’ll be a one-year deal that will be signed Tuesday:

When Rondo’s signing becomes official, the Lakers will have two more guaranteed roster spots to fill. However, L.A. wants to keep the final spot open to maintain roster flexibility when other teams make roster changes throughout the season.
