Report: Phoenix Suns interested in trading for Malcolm Brogdon

“Brogdon’s name has been mentioned the most among league executives this past week,” relates Yahoo Sports.

Tracking with news on the Boston Celtics’ offseason plans elsewhere, Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer is reporting the Phoenix Suns are targeting Malcolm Brogdon as an option to upgrade their backcourt via trade.

“Brogdon … has registered interest in during trade conversations with Boston” dating to the last trade deadline, per the Yahoo Sports reporter.

“(Boston) is considered active in pre-draft trade talks by rival front offices,” notes Fischer, echoing reporting from MassLive’s Brian Robb and Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes. However, Phoenix would need to find a third party to take Chris Paul’s salary in any deal with the Celtics.

“Boston is of the belief that Danilo Gallinari … can provide a crucial lift next year” once back from a torn ACL, per the reporter, particularly if restricted free agent Grant Williams departs in free agency.

“Brogdon’s name has been mentioned the most among league executives this past week,” relates Fischer, and Derrick White “has been described by opposing personnel as the least likely of Boston’s guards to be moved this offseason, particularly after a stellar playoff run.”
