Report: Perrion Winfrey sustained concussion from scooter accident

Browns rookie Perrion Winfrey is ready to turn it around in Cleveland despite a rocky start to his career.

The Cleveland Browns were without rookie defensive tackle this week after he sustained a concussion. After he missed the last two days of practice and was listed as inactive for the game against the Buffalo Bills last week, Winfrey tweeted that this year has been one of the worst years of his life.

He elaborated to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland dot com, stating he sustained his concussion after getting into a scooter accident. Winfrey, however, has said he has sustained a perspective shift since his benching a few weeks ago and is ready to turn things around after a rocky start to his rookie season:

“Honestly I just changed my perspective over this past month being able to reset and focus in on what I need to focus on… I’m just grateful to be able to do what I love, so I started to take this job more seriously and (I’m) leaving everything else that didn’t have to do with this alone.”

Given the dismay of the defensive tackle room this season, getting production out of Winfrey down the stretch could go a long way as the Browns look to reconstruct the whole unit this offseason.
