Former Celtics great Kevin Garnett will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday night, and another Celtics star from the title-winning 2008 team isn’t far behind.
The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn reports that Paul Pierce will be inducted as a member of the Class of 2021, which will be officially unveiled on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET on ESPN.
Pierce will join a class that also reportedly includes Pistons legend Ben Wallace, and could also feature Celtics legend Bill Russell, who is a finalist as a coach after being inducted as a player in 1975.
Pierce ranks third in Celtics history in games played, second in points scored, and seventh in rebounds.
