Report: Patriots, Pro Bowl LB Matt Judon agree to restructured deal

Matthew Judon reaches an agreement on a contract restructure with the Patriots.

Four-time Pro Bowl linebacker Matthew Judon has reportedly reached an agreement on a contract restructure with the New England Patriots. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news on Friday.

The deal didn’t come with any added years to Judon’s contract, which runs through the 2024 season. Per Schefter, it takes the $2 million guaranteed in 2023 to a fully guaranteed $14 million.

It’s a much-deserved pay bump for one of the NFL’s most feared pass rushers. Judon was one of the best players on the team last season, racking up 15.5 sacks and 14 tackles for a loss.

He’s expected to play a key role this year as well with the Patriots facing a plethora of high-end quarterbacks and explosive offenses. This new deal should have the man in the red sleeves richer, happier and on the attack.
