The New England Patriots sustained familiarity in the front office with the return of Nick Caserio, director of player personnel.
Bill Belichick is dealing with an entirely different team after the departure of Tom Brady, and he’s trying to keep as many familiar faces in leadership roles as possible. It looks like he won’t be able to do that with longtime director of college scouting, Monti Ossenfort, according to MMQB’s Alber Breer.
Ossenfort will likely be on the move in the coming weeks—he was twice requested for, and blocked from, interviews for the Texans GM job over the last two years, and interviewed for the Browns GM job in January.
Ossenfort has been in his current role since 2014 and he’s been with the team for 15 seasons. The Patriots reportedly ‘weren’t caught off guard’ by his impending departure, as his contract is set to expire.
