The New England Patriots seem to be on the verge of settling their kicker situation, at least for Week 14. The Patriots will have the position “squared away by the end of practice” on Friday, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. New England had been working without a kicker this week after cutting Kai Forbath, who missed an extra point in Week 13.
Forbath joined the Patriots after the team moved through three kickers in 2019. Stephen Gostkowski went on injured reserve with a season-ending hip injury. The Patriots cut Mike Nugent, Gostkowski’s replacement, after a string of poor performances. And Nick Folk, who seemed to be the best option they’d had all year, suffered from appendicitis.

The Patriots will almost certainly roster a kicker by the time they kickoff against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
Who will it be? Perhaps we’ll see on Friday afternoon at Patriots practice.
