Report: Patriots cancel Friday practice after positive COVID-19 test

The Patriots continue to struggle with positive COVID-19 tests.

The New England Patriots cancelled practice on Friday due to a positive COVID-19 test, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss and Field Yates.

One player received the positive test result and another player is awaiting a positive test, according to Reiss. Cam Newton, Bill Murray and Stephon Gilmore were the first players on the team to contract the virus. The Patriots have been affected nearly the most in terms of complications with COVID in NFL teams, along with the Tennessee Titans.

Bill Belichick has taken things extremely seriously and has valued the Patriots’ health over winning football games. The team’s No. 1 priority has and will be the health of those in the organization.

The Patriots are set to play the Denver Broncos on Sunday, but that could very easily change — for the third time.
