#Baylor head coach Matt Rhule has a big week ahead in the NFL world: He’s scheduled to interview with the #Panthers on Monday, I’m told. He has the #Giants this week, as well, and that is expected to be Tuesday. Will the coveted candidate leave college football?

According to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, the Panthers will interview Baylor coach Matt Rhule for their head coach vacancy on Monday.
Rhule is the wild card of the contenders who have been connected with the Carolina job so far. While he has limited pro experience, his performance turning around the Baylor program over the last couple of seasons has drawn a ton of attention and made him the most desirable college coaching candidate. They went 1-11 in his first year (2017), then improved to 7-6 last season, followed by an 11-3 record in 2019.
The main competition for Rhule is expected to come from the Giants, who will also interview him soon. He served as their assistant offensive line coach back in 2012. His local connection comes via Western Carolina, where he worked in a number of roles from 2002-2005.
His overall record as a coach is 47-43.
Rhule’s visit will be the first in a busy week for the Panthers. Interim coach Perry Fewell is scheduled to interview for the job on Wednesday, followed by Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanksi Thursday and Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels Friday.
