Report: Packers signing former Bills WR Robert Foster to practice squad

The Packers are signing the speedy former Bills WR to the team’s practice squad, per a report.

The Green Bay Packers are adding some speed and experience to the wide receiver room via a practice squad addition.

According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, the Packers are signing former Buffalo Bills receiver Robert Foster to the team’s 16-player practice squad.

Foster, an undrafted free agent from Alabama, spent two years with the Bills, catching 30 passes for 605 yards and three touchdowns, including 27 catches for 541 yards and all three scores during an impressive rookie season in 2018.

Foster, 26, was released by the Bills on Saturday.

The 6-2, 196-pound receiver ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine. He finished the three-cone drill in 6.9 seconds and hit 31″ in the vertical leap.

Foster played in just three games last season, catching three passes for 64 yards.

The Packers have already signed receivers Darrius Shepherd and Reggie Begelton to the practice squad on Sunday, giving the team at least eight receivers – including the five on the active roster – in the building to start the 2020 season.
