Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander is dealing with an AC joint injury in his right shoulder, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Alexander suffered the injury during a fourth-down play in the second half of the Packers’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. He absorbed an impact from Steelers running back Najee Harris while attempting to make the tackle after a short completion to the flat.
Alexander was evaluated on the field and eventually carted back to the locker room. He didn’t return. More testing will be required until the team knows the full severity of the injury.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur was unable to provide a meaningful update on Alexander’s status after the game. He also wasn’t able to comment on whether the injury could be season-threatening.
“I have no idea, I have not heard yet. I am hoping he is OK,” LaFleur said.
