As Everson Griffen has trimmed down his list of teams he is interested in signing with, among the teams to express interest is a rival of the Vikings, according to a report.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the Packers are interested in Griffen. Rapoport also said that there is mutual interest between the two.
Rapoport did point out in his tweet that Vikings coach Mike Zimmer recently said he would love to have Griffen back. Here is that quote with some more context:
“I’d love to have him back,” Zimmer said, via the Pioneer Press. “He’s always been one of my guys. If that happens, it would be great. But I don’t know where that’s at right now.”
With the Packers already having a stellar front seven and the Vikings struggling at times in pass protection, Griffen’s hypothetical addition to Green Bay makes the division tougher for Minnesota.
