Projected first-round pick Onyeka Okongwu will reportedly meet this week with the Cleveland Cavaliers ahead of the NBA draft, according to Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report.

Okongwu emerged as perhaps the top defensive center in the country last season and has drawn interest from several teams. He has previously met with the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards and San Antonio Spurs in recent weeks.

The 6-foot-10 forward earned First Team All-Pac 12 honors last season after averaging 16.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.2 steals. While he is known to be an elite defender, he also showed promise on offense and has the potential to impact games on both ends of the floor.

Okongwu is most commonly projected to be selected in the top 10, and some even believe he could be taken in the 4-6 range. He would likely be available when the Cavaliers are on the clock at No. 5 and he projects to check a lot of boxes for the organization on both ends of the floor.

In addition to the Cavaliers, the 19-year-old could be a target for a few teams near the top of the draft. The Charlotte Hornets are said to be interested while the Boston Celtics are reportedly attempting to package their three first-round picks together to trade up and select him.

While Okongwu is widely considered to be a top 10 pick, it is becoming increasingly likely he will be selected earlier based on some of the recent speculation to surface.
