Wednesday, April 22, 2020. It is officially NFL Draft Eve, and the rumor mill is about to start churning like it never has before.
Many of those rumors are sure to be in regards to the Washington Redskins and what they might do with the second overall pick on Thursday night. While the heavy, HEAVY favorite is for them to take Chase Young with the pick, there, of course, is a percent chance that they trade the pick away to a desperate team willing to pay a huge haul to move up — even if that percent chance is closer to zero than 10.
According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, one such team has already laid out ‘a complete deal’ and put it on the table for the Redskins to consider. Whether Washington even entertains the thought is a different question, but as far as we know, they are at least accepting phone calls on the idea of a potential trade, no matter how unlikely it is to actually happen.
As we forge through this next day or so until the clock finally starts to tick, prepare yourself for an influx of trade rumors and pick swaps; they are sure to ramp up as time winds down. It is of the utmost importance to follow trusted media organizations during this time so you aren’t led astray by false reports. As it is every year, someone on Twitter will change their image to look like Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport in order to lure people in with false news. CHECK BEFORE YOU RETWEET. If you are so inclined, turn on your Twitter push notifications for either Schefter or Rapoport so you aren’t duped by an imposter. Here at Redskins Wire and the USA TODAY Network, we promise to only bring you the most accurate information as quickly as we can do so, keeping you up to date on everything that is taking place in the NFL.
