On Sunday morning more bad news came for the Oklahoma Sooners. Following arrests of Trejan Bridges and Seth McGowan that led to their dismissal, another player was recently arrested.
According to John Hoover of Sports Illustrated, Sooners edge defender Isaiah Thomas was arrested on petty larceny charges.
Oklahoma football player Isaiah Thomas was arrested early Sunday morning for failing to appear on a previous petty larceny charge and was booked overnight into the Cleveland County Detention Center.
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office didn’t include any details about the petty larceny, but reported that Thomas was arrested at 2:08 a.m. and was booked at 2:59 a.m.
No other details have been released at this time. Thomas was expected to be one of the top producers for the Oklahoma defense in 2021. Last season he finished 46 total pressures and 29 hurries. Both were second on the team to Nik Bonitto.
It remains to be seen how the Oklahoma Sooners and head coach Lincoln Riley will handle this situation. Sooners Wire will provide more details as they are made available.
