No. 12 Notre Dame will be without nose tackle Kurt Hinish today when they take on No. 18 Wisconsin, according to a report from IrishIllustrated’s Tim Prister.
Hinish is a key member of Notre Dame’s defensive front and run defense. The news comes after a mid-week update pointed at Hinish’s status surprisingly being in question for today’s game.
Sources have confirmed to Irish Illustrated that NT-Kurt Hinish is not expected to play for #NotreDame in today’s Shamrock Series game against Wisconsin.

The veteran nose tackle has recorded 5 tackles, 1 tackle-for-loss and 1 sack so far this year.
His reported absence will likely see junior Jacob Lacey and sophomore Aidan Keanaaina share starter reps up front.
We now await news about whether the Fighting Irish will also be without left tackle Michael Carmody when the game kicks off in a few hours.
