One of the best players in the country in the 2025 recruiting class resides in Notre Dame football’s backyard and they are actively recruiting the star.
Defensive end [autotag]Damien Shanklin[/autotag], an Indianapolis native, stands 6-foot, 4-inches and weighs 230-pounds, has set a date for an official visit to South Bend. The No. 17 edge rusher and 172nd overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings will make said visit on June 7th.
It will be the first of three visits that Shanklin has set up, as Tennessee and Texas will follow. The good news is that currently there are two 247Sports Crystal Ball picks, both of them for the defensive end to ultimately land with the Irish.
Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren Central Top247 edge Damien Shanklin (@D_shanklin42) locks in official visits to #NotreDame #Tennessee and #Texas. Also looks forward to spring visits to #Michigan #OhioState and with the #Irish as well. Story here: https://t.co/uYrqnTYd75

Currently, Notre Dame has four commits on the defensive line, but Shanklin looks like a take at this moment.
