Report: Nic Claxton’s shoulder rehab ‘has gone well’

Brooklyn Nets rookie Nicolas Claxton had season-ending surgery before the NBA began its restart in Florida.

No team had roster issues quite like the Brooklyn Nets did heading into the Disney bubble.

With Spencer Dinwiddie, DeAndre Jordan and Taurean Prince all dealing with COVID-19, Wilson Chandler electing to opt-out, and both Kevin Durant (right Achilles) and Kyrie Irving (right shoulder) continuing with their rehab, the loss of Nic Claxton after he underwent successful, season-ending surgery on his left shoulder was felt despite the fact the rookie only played in 15 NBA games in 2019-20.

In the few opportunities he was given over the season, Claxton managed to put together a 15-point performance against the Milwaukee Bucks, which he followed up with a 14-point game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Claxton also had two games in which he blocked three shots and three appearances where he grabbed six rebounds despite playing less than 20 minutes in each of those instances.

The Disney bubble would’ve provided him with a great opportunity. But surgery was required and rehab with it.

According to Alex Schiffer of The Athletic, Claxton’s rehab “has gone well.”

Although there aren’t any posts of Claxton working out on his Instagram page, Schiffer has seen the rookie put up videos “of him dribbling and passing with his younger brother.”
